aiming to make this a monthly column where i rattle off and ramble on all the new and old music that makes me delay life-altering self-catastrophe for another month. the intention is to make it a little easier on myself when the whole Exuent Albumnes thing comes around, while also broadening the pool to highlight music from the recent and distant past that dominated my habits.

i'm not going to be able to top Lee's lines about "sewage made sentient" or "reeking ambulatory waste product" in the product description, so we'll just move on along to...


P/J PROBY - Lord Horror

the passing of David Britton late last year coupled with the arrival of covid bucks sent me chipping away at the Lord Horror universe of comics and novels and this truly unusual book on CD edition of the daddy of all. colorfully gruesome acts loathsome transcendence relayed with the gentle southern cadence of a 1960 pop icon. compared to the current locales of our wild country's collective idea space, David Britton's id is simply de-vine. 


WORLD OF PLEASURE - s/t 

really like that i'm hearing more newer hardcore bands opt for the raw meaty sound as opposed to the sonic equivalent of rheum-glitter that smothered the life out of the genre in the late 00s. 


PUNITIVE DAMAGE - We Don't Forget

same as above. 


TEETH ENGRAVED WITH THE NAMES OF THE DEAD - Radical 142 

preamble to the threat of leaving made flesh. 


BESTIAL PIGLORD - Visitation Hour  and OddBall

i recommend this band a lot, and no one can make it past the name without snarking in flippant disgust (fuck you i like it). 


LIFELESS DARK - Who Will Be The Victims?

if you're going to bump the kind of shit that you erroneously believe will make people think you're cooler than you actually are, make it the Viagra Boys. 


COFFINS / DEPRESSION - split

pretty sure the finishing hold for my goth create-a-wrestler was called "Coffin Depression". 


RVBBER VVITCH - Mastvrbations Malveillantes MMXVIII

the only Nazi i respect is Seka. 


CROSS FADE - Ruined

one of my favorite NY bands.

only track i could find online. another one i'll play for DM weenies who insist that my kind of vocals "wouldn't fit". 


SANGUISUGABOGG - Menstrual Envy 

i guess this is the latest "overrated" band to make the baby soft cry-bullies of the porno-gore gatekeeping elite flex their cumsocks on comment threads  is Pissgrave still occupying that rarefied territory? 


YAUTJA / CHEPANG - split 

shit dude this is taking a lot longer than i expected. i guess i indulged in the music consumption equivalent of aggravation eating this month. gee gosh i wonder why?

off to a good start here. solid production, packing in a lot of dynamics in a short time span. that's the way to be.

love this project a lot.

yeah yeah its pretty fucking great now make it so i don't have to endlessly refresh the pre-order page to beat a bunch of nerds to the punch. 


in a better World (Wrestling Entertainment), these industrialized bodyart horror metal menancers would be playing Bray Wyatt or Alester Black to the ring instead of Spode Orange (and also Alester Black would be Tommy End and be a huge star alongside his adorable not-fired hot wife but idunnowhateveforeve). 


EVAPORATED SORES - ULCEROUS DIMENSIONS 

look my main man i don't know what's going on with Miscarriage either, but hey why not eschew your confusions with this similarly rendered bulk of flesh eating ear canal maggots?


this coupled with the aforementioned Obscene record gives me new hope for pained vocals.

i'm pretty much in "whatever" mode about the PE genre at this current stage, but something about this project just checks all my boxes. i'd hesitate to use the term "nostalgia", but it feels closer to the first wave of American PE (Deathpile, Slogun, Bloodyminded) and insanely vicious Italian projects than whatever is being sperged out by iron-deficient hipsters.

it might be uncouth of me to mention this release, as i'm thanked on it and i've been in regular friendly contact with MZ for quite a few years... but also no one cares and/or reads blogs anymore, so whatever; i'd be all about this shit regardless. cold, rhythmic, picturesque, menacing... everything you could want out of an industrial record.

 TITHE - Penance 

early contender for my top metal album of the year. impeccable all around. a must for those of us who remain dying of thirst for more groups in the gooey vein of Cattlepress, Succumb, Sepulcher, Reveal.
