One Album, One Kill

a usual sweep of my cd and record collections, i happened upon several albums i love very much by bands that only did that one album. not "one GOOD album", just 1 album. they're albums i still revisit, that still sound fresh and awesome, but for some reason or another, these bands just came apart after these records. a few have gone on to form other bands, while others faded away entirely. i'm not counting discography collections, and bands that have done splits were also disqualified. bands that only did one full length or ep that was officially released. let's get to the top 5;

PAPERCUT HOMICIDE - From Filth Comes Grace

i think everyone in the Communion has this album, and we may be the only four people who do have it. such a cool, psychotic, caustic piece of violent grinddeath that plays like a blend of Pig Destroyer, None So Vile, and the more punishing moments of Acid Bath, with all the sexual self-atrocities those bands put forth in their art and lyrics.

Last night i wrote about 30 songs after the idea of the Communion doing a noisecore session came up. they all range from about 1-3 lines longs, some of them just the titles. hope we do it sooner than later... after all the time and effort we put into the DLOU sessions it'll be cool to something fast and blurry and not well thought out. look at what SETE STAR SEPT is doing now on their records Gero Me and the split w/ PENIS GEYSER and you'll have an idea of what i envision for this stuff.

most of these titles were in the previous note. i just took them and wrote some nonsense next to them. since i'm bored and i have hours before i have to be at work, here's an early Christmas disappointment; all the dumb ass words to the imaginary noisecore session. there are so many lame things about me, and here's more;

1. DUST HUNTER - prints a rare doll. a brain encircled. glue bubbled at the sandwiched joints. brought to you by the curb where pornography molders to be passed on.
(inspired by the All Night Long  films 2 and 3)

2. PREPUBESCENT ABDOMINAL BREAKFAST BOWL - i made her cut open the stomach and eat the cereal that hadn't been digested. i can only imagine puke. there are not enough ways to rip it open.

3. TELEDILDONIC MACHINE - eyes blown out. navel volcano. anus hollow. mouth lobs at pace with cunt. every port greased and packed and chainsawed with cum.
(more ero-guro musings here. i'm trying to be more "direct" and not hide from these more grisly thoughts behind multiple meanings or art or whatever.)


4. GERMAN MEDICAL PORN CATALOG - SS tramp stamp shaped from syringes. money shot iron cross redundancy.  you can write on this cast with the scum your fingers gather along the way.
(yet another title i had that i just went with. about my fetish for nazi ladies)


5. WHITE GUTS - it has been said we all bleed we all shit we all piss. but not from the same same wound the same hole the same slit. presumptions aside, all i know is the pale. and it would be a lie to condescend to the black. 
(i've always wanted to write something in the vein of "White Minority" or "Guilty of Being White". this is as close as i'll get i suppose. it's not about anything as 'tarded as "racial pride" or whatever, it's about knowing who are and not co-opting other people's suffering and calling it your own or saying you know what it's like to be this or that. we only know what we are, and it's fucking arrogant to assume otherwise).


6. BEX TEX LEX - delivered twisting and split. lungs no where near long enough to booster the cries. this makes me wish we could all be born again.
(title is a secret. inspired by A Serbian Film, Mai Chan's Daily Life, and Nicole 12)

7. CHICKENS ON TRAMPOLINES - prayer circles are ringworm of the spirit. confession is the proto glory-hole where shame is made a cock for perverts to nurse.
(title came from a joke about the Man Show as re-imagined by pedophiles. lyrics are pretty self-explanatory.)

8. A RED PINPOINT IN THE GAUZE OF SHADOWS - feces touch us all. more than faint with every gulp. blowing the corpse of a shotgunned head as if the gore would balloon. 
(inspired by Samuel R. Delany's novel Hogg. title is a direct quote from the book).

9. CHAPPED  - lanced with a hangnail. braining like an aftertaste. hatred as a shortcut to being unique. tumor shavings like feathers in an updraft. art as a whole owes a gratitude to murders. 
(  inspired by Simon Rumley's Red White and Blue among other things. last line was lifted verbatim from the italian film Bad Inclination). 

10. CERVIX BOMB - self pity and masturbation bemoan absentee captives. uncovering epilepsy was worth the burnt earnings. thousands have not been impacted the the plan's wobbling spores. be molested by what bears your name.

heavy as dead weight and catchy as an STD, Norway's ARABROT already feels like you're listening to the biggest band in the world, even though they have yet to really make a huge splash on this side of it.

BESTIAL MOUTHS - the Hissing Veil

hands down the purest, darkest music released this year. plays like some lost collaboration between Diamanda Galas and Suicide, with punk rock drums. easily my favorite lyrics of the year; twisted minimalist poetry that reads like Begotten put to words.

NOISEAR - Subvert the Dominant Paradigm 

best grind release of the year that reinvigorated our love of the genre. look for us to be biting them off quite a bit in the future

AUSTRA - Feel it Break

now we all love Zola Jesus' Conatus, but for me this album is just a hair better... mostly because it goes much farther in terms of the themes/subject matter. this isn't just another cutesy electropop group we're talking about here (COUGHCOUGH Phantogram COUGHCOUGH). this is one of those records you really have to sit with while holding the lyric sheet. by doing this, you'll find some intensely evocative ideas/images relating to sadism, racism (almost pro in a certain light), bondage, violence, and stuff that would make most porn metalloids blush.
